Jack Russell Terrier History
The Jack Russell Terrier breed originated in England by Reverend John Russell, known as Parson Jack, in 1819.
Jack Russell Terriers are sturdy, little dogs, 10"-15" in height. They may have smooth, broken, or rough coats that are white overall with tan, black and/or brown markings. They are known for their stamina, courage, loyalty, and sunny disposition (happy, smiling tailwaggers).
Jack Russells are the happiest just to be your best little buddy.
Today the Jack Russell Terrier is a much loved family pet in homes across the country and is very adaptable to a variety of lifestyles. Their intelligence and easily recognized appearance have made them quite popular in the show business. Nipper, of RCA fame, Wishbone, Eddy of Frasier, and Milo on "The Mask" are just a few examples of famous JRT's. You can also spy them frequently in commercials on TV and in magazine advertisements. Many celebrities have chosen JRT's as pets.
